Q: What were the standard accessories that came with a new Featherweight?

A: This varied slightly from year to year and from model to model but the average 221 was supplied with:
1) Ruffler
2) Hemming foot
3) Adjustable hemmer
4) Gatherer
5) Edge stitcher
6) Binder

Q How can I tell if a particular attachment will fit my Featherweight?

A: There are a number of accessories for older Singers, including Featherweights, that share some components, but not others. An example is the hemstitcher, in which the attachment and thumbscrew parts are interchangeble (via identical part numbers) among Classes 15, 66 (except 66-1), 99, 101, 127 &128, and 221. However, the throat plate numbers differ and are not interchangeable among all classes. from Carolyn Van Otten
