A couple of light marks on the bed prevent this machine getting a full 9 category on my condition chart, but the marks are light and do not detract from the general fine condition of the machine.
Perfect chrome, and the paint has a superb jet-black gloss.
An added feature is the correct-for-year graduated stitch plate

Good, solid, strong box with zero odor.
Machine comes with a range of attachments/feet and a packet of Schmetz needles.

LEAP YEAR MACHINE
Here’s one for the romantics among you – check out its production date.
This machine really sewed perfectly during its workshop time, but I’ve had to reduce condition rating down to an 8 because of a number of flaws, probably caused by a poorly stored foot controller at the rear of the bed.
These match-head-sized blemishes affect the top protective lacquer and do not extend through into the black paint itself.
Perfect chrome - and check out the pictures - those decals are superb.
A good saving to be had here if you can live with the small cosmetic flaws.

Good, solid, strong original box with zero odor.

Looking for a bargain 221 that still has considerable eye appeal?
This could be the one for you.
Reason it’s marked down on the condition chart is some fading to the front decal and a small match-head-size blemish to the outer protective lacquer on the extension table.
Yes, it’s a machine more suited for use than the showroom shelf and, like all my Featherweights, it will go through the rigorous workshop procedure and will be ready for another lifetime of service.
Check out the floral faceplate, correct-for-year, of course.
This and the other chrome on the machine is perfect.

This machine just misses a solid 9 condition status because of slight thinning to over an inch of the front decal in front of the needle plate.
Otherwise, those early-style decals are totally complete, the chrome is perfect and the paint has a great loss with just the inevitable light marks on the base.

Here’s a machine that could grace a collector’s shelf or be the envy of everyone at class.
This 221 has perfect decals, superb paintwork with just a minimum of the lightest marks on the bed – I was very tempted to give it a condition 9+ status.
Chrome is perfect and we have the correct-for-year graduated stitch plate.

Near-perfect late-style “paperclip” decals on this fine Featherweight - just the slightest of thinning on one line at the front of the bed.
We do have, perhaps, slightly more than the usual inevitable light pin marks affecting the outer protective layer, so I’ve marked the machine’s condition down accordingly.
It’s one for the active seamstress and has the advantage of Singer’s super-accurate graduated stitch plate to aid perfect seaming

Here's one for the romantics amongst you -- check out the production date....
If only all Featherweights survived this well my job would be that much easier.
This one has virtually totally complete late-paperclip-style decals, a superb jet-black gloss to the paintwork and an absolute minimum of those inevitable marks on the bed to indicate previous use.
Of course, it comes  with the correct-for-year graduated stitch plate, said by many quilters to be a great asset towards a perfect seam.
Highly recommended machine.
Good solid, strong, original box with zero odor.

We’ve got great early classic-style decals on this machine, but it jumps a little down on the condition rating by virtue of a small match-head-size chip on the lamp cover and a couple heavier-than-usual blemishes to the surface on the extension table.
Don’t worry, this only affects the outer protective lacquer covering and is nothing of a snagging issue even with the finest fabric

Another Valentine's Day machine
I’m willing to bet that this superb 1950 model will be the first to sell from this month’s selection.
Look at all the plusses.
Superb black paint with that deep Featherweight gloss, the iconic scrolled correct-for-year scrolled faceplate, the classic early decals and chrome as bright and clean as the day it left the factory.
They don’t get a lot better than this. We have only the lightest of marks on the bed to indicate any previous use.

Good solid, strong, original box with zero odor.
