Here’s a machine with a strange affliction – don’t worry it’s not contagious.
I’m guessing that at some time this model has been left near a brightly lit window during a heat wave for it’s only at a certain angle that one can see a light crazing to the paintwork.
Don’t worry, we’re not talking about a possible thread-snagging situation - in fact you can’t even feel the marks.
Not sure if the above a plus or a minus, but certainly a plus is the condition of the classic decals which are totally complete without a sign of wear.
There’s prominent scratch on the bed to the right of the machine but, other than that, we have far fewer of the inevitable light marks normally found.
And don’t worry about that ugly plastic orange belt. It will, of course, be replaced during the machine’s extensive workshop time.
Good, solid, strong box with zero odor.
Machine comes with a range of attachments/feet and a packet of Schmetz needles.

Fully cleaned inside and out, serviced and
sew tested before leaving the workshop. Electrically tested for your safety. Pictures are of the actual machine. Any bright marks are from the flash - all flaws are always described in full.
Price includes comprehensive insured air shipping to your door
This machine. as with all other Featherweights I sell, comes with three vital pieces of special documentation.
1) A certificate giving Singer's official statement of manufacturing date.
2) A guarantee that the machine contains no reproduction parts.
3) A dated certificate of electrical safety
.

LEAP YEAR MACHINE
Here’s one for the romantics among you – check out its production date.
This machine really sewed perfectly during its workshop time, but I’ve had to reduce condition rating down to an 8 because of a number of flaws, probably caused by a poorly stored foot controller at the rear of the bed.
These match-head-sized blemishes affect the top protective lacquer and do not extend through into the black paint itself.
Perfect chrome - and check out the pictures - those decals are superb.
A good saving to be had here if you can live with the small cosmetic flaws.

Good, solid, strong original box with zero odor.

Looking for a bargain 221 that still has considerable eye appeal?
This could be the one for you.
Reason it’s marked down on the condition chart is some fading to the front decal and a small match-head-size blemish to the outer protective lacquer on the extension table.
Yes, it’s a machine more suited for use than the showroom shelf and, like all my Featherweights, it will go through the rigorous workshop procedure and will be ready for another lifetime of service.
Check out the floral faceplate, correct-for-year, of course.
This and the other chrome on the machine is perfect.

This machine just misses a solid 9 condition status because of slight thinning to over an inch of the front decal in front of the needle plate.
Otherwise, those early-style decals are totally complete, the chrome is perfect and the paint has a great loss with just the inevitable light marks on the base.
And please remember all my prices include shipping by FedEx’s premier next-day service.

Superb early-style, classic decals on this fine Featherweight.
It's marked down a little on condition because of a few  light marks on the base.
Don't worry, none, extends through the tough protective layer into the rich, black paintwork beneath.
I've just noticed, the machine as shown is fitted with an incorrect white belt -- a high-class German belt which I use on all my machines, will be fitted during the machine's workshop time.
And please remember all my prices include shipping by FedEx’s premier next-day service.

Near-perfect late-style “paperclip” decals on this fine Featherweight - just the slightest of thinning on one line at the front of the bed.
We do have, perhaps, slightly more than the usual inevitable light pin marks affecting the outer protective layer, so I’ve marked the machine’s condition down accordingly.
It’s one for the active seamstress and has the advantage of Singer’s super-accurate graduated stitch plate to aid perfect seaming

Here’s a machine with a little bit of history.
It must be one of the earliest with the paperclip design, normally only found on later machines.
Don’t worry, it certainly hasn’t been re-painted – I wouldn’t touch it if it had.
The decals are great with just the slightest suggestion of thinning to one single line at the front the bed.
There are perhaps a few more pin marks to the base than I like to see and I have marked the condition and price down accordingly.
It’s a great machine and highly recommended.
None of the blemishes, of course, go through the tough, protective outer layer into the paintwork itself.
Good solid, strong, original box with zero odor.
Machine comes with a full range of attachments/feet, the a modern thermal bound  full-size handbook and a packet of Schmetz needles.

We’ve got great early classic-style decals on this machine, but it jumps a little down on the condition rating by virtue of a small match-head-size chip on the lamp cover and a couple heavier-than-usual blemishes to the surface on the extension table.
Don’t worry, this only affects the outer protective lacquer covering and is nothing of a snagging issue even with the finest fabric

I’ve had to reduce the condition of this 221 just a little because, on close inspection, there is a little thinning of just one line of the decal on the extension table; and perhaps more than the usual light marks on the rear of the bed, probably from a carelessly stored controller.
On the plus side we have a great jet-black finish, perfect chrome and the correct-for-year original Singer graduated stitch plate.
Before anyone asks – sorry I have no stock of spare original graduated plates and only a long waiting list.
So what we have here is a thoroughly practical machine that would be the envy of all at class

You’ve got to look really carefully at this superb machine to see why I haven’t rated it even higher.
We have superb paintwork with just the minimum of light marks on the bed but on careful examination, there is the very slightest of thinning to the decal on the bed under the lamp.
We have the correct-for-year original Singer graduated stitch plate, a great aid to accurate seaming and, of course, perfect chrome plating.
A highly recommended machine for the collector’s shelf or the serious seamstress

A superb survivor -- those classic-style decals are totally complete and unworn except for the smallest area  -- less than a quarter of an inch where -- they have lightly thinned.
Paintwork has that great jet black gloss with just the inevitable marks on the base and one match-head size flaw to the protective lacquer on the fold-up extension table.
Perfect chrome, of course

I thought we had a 9+ machine here but there's just the smallest chip to the decal at the rear of the extension table.
But that's the only bad news. The chrome plating is perfect and there's just the minimum of light marking to the base.
And, of course, we have the correct-for-year graduated stitch plate (guaranteed original)
