Singer Featherweight Centennials
Singer, rightfully proud of its company history, decided to celebrate its centenary in 1951 by giving all machines made that year a special badge. This was the standard Singer emblem of the time but with the inscription "A Century of Sewing Service 1851-1951" around the outside of the oval.
These "limited edition" models mad e for only one year are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Most have 1951 serial numbers but authenticated models with 1948 to 1952 serial numbers have been located - suggesting that the company held vast stocks and simply badged machines just prior to dispatch. The Centennial Featherweights are mechanically identical to the standard 221 - and only the badge identifies them cosmetically.

We are proud to offer the following selected models

Good Centennials have been thin on the ground so I’m pleased to be able to offer this fine machine which would have made it into the solid 9 category but for some light blemishes at the rear of the bed.
Looks like someone wasn’t too careful storing the speed controller.
Yes, it would sit well on any collector’s shelf but will, perhaps, be more at home working for another 60 years
Good solid, strong, original box with zero odor.

Machine comes with a full range of attachments/feet, the original full-size handbook and a packet of Schmetz needles.

Fully cleaned inside and out, serviced and
sew tested before leaving the workshop. Electrically tested for your safety. Pictures are of the actual machine. Any bright marks are from the flash - all flaws are always described in full.
Price includes comprehensive insured air shipping to your door
This machine. as with all other Featherweights I sell, comes with three vital pieces of special documentation.
1) A certificate giving Singer's official statement of manufacturing date.
2) A guarantee that the machine contains no reproduction parts.

Another Centennial with, unfortunately, a small cosmetic issue.
The decals are 100% throughout the machine but there’s a match-head-size flaw on the extension table, probably caused by a dropped pair of scissors or similar.
This affects only the hard outer protective lacquer. It does not extend into the paintwork beneath and presents nothing of a snagging issue at all.
Good solid, strong, original box with zero odor.

Here’s a superb Centennial.
It's in great condition with just a little thinning to a small section of the front decal.
Chrome is perfect and check out the reflection of the deco face plate in the great-condition paintwork.

Please note that all 221 machines come with free air shipping and comprehensive insurance. This takes, on average, six working days. However, it is possible to upgrade delivery to an express air service (three to four working days) for an additional $35

Correction. ALL machines will now travel by AIR EXPRESS at no extra charge

I source most of my machines in Europe which, although having the advantage or providing the very best examples , means that most are 240 volt and need either a small converter box or a proper conversion to 110 volt. To explore these options please go to Motors
