More than 200 visitors attended each of our previous American Conventions . They came from England, Australia, Japan, Hungary, Germany, Holland, Canada, Norway, and all over the USA to take part in these unique events.
This year we’re planning for an even bigger attendance with a more ambitious program aimed at appealing to everyone interested in old sewing machines.
Activities will include:
The Carter Bays Collection
Bus tours will run to Columbia, SC, to visit the home of America’s first serious sewing machine collector and author. You will view what is probably the best collection of American Sewing Machines, including many one of a kind machines.
The Harry Berzack Museum
A shuttle bus will run from the Convention hotel to visit this museum, with tours guided by the owner himself.
Mary Jo’s Cloth Store
A shuttle bus will take those quilters who are interested to this famous venue.
Our program will include:
Friday, October 23
Registration, Bus Tours, Sales Tables set up, Auction Machines arrive, Halloween themed dinner, with Fancy Dress and Wall Hanging Judging.
Saturday, October 24
Registration, Bus Tours, continuation of Sales Tables and arrival of Auction Machines, which will be available for viewing. Dinner, followed by Graham Forsdyke’s International Sewing Machine Quiz.
Sunday, October 25
Sales Tables remain open, and late arrivals of Auction Machines may be viewed. Morning only Shuttle to Harry Berzack Museum. Lunch, followed by of course, the big event of the day, the famous ISMACS Auction – already looking to be the largest ever held.
Timings are still in the planning stage but we will ensure that there is plenty of opportunity for socializing with fellow collectors. Meet the big names from around the world
