Why sell at the ISMACS Auction?
Your machine will be available to the largest number of potential enthusiastic buyers.
It will be on display at the event in a special preview area.
Your machine will be included in the catalog which will be distributed to all ISMACS members world wide before the event and also feature in our catalog pages on this web site.
There's no other way to achieve such intensive pre-sale publicity.
World records have been set at ISMACS auctions and you can expect to achieve the best-possible price.
There are no entry fees and no commission charges. You get paid out the full bid price immediately the sale is over.
You may set a reserve which will be known only to the auctioneer.

Why buy at the ISMACS Auction? Nowhere else will you see the variety or number of machines available in one spot.
Those at the Convention will have plenty of time to examine each potential purchase in detail before bidding.
You will not be charged any buyers' premiums.
You will be able to take any purchases home with you after the event -- no postal charges and no worries over shipping loss or damage.

Who can buy and sell in the auction?
We see the Auction as a service to our members and the climax of our convention weekend. Therefore we place no restrictions on who enters machines.
However we do limit bidding to ISMACS members.

Can I sell in the auction if I can't attend?
If you can make arrangements to get your machines to Charlotte before the event, we'll take it from there. We'll have a special secure storage facility as our diposal for receiving machines in advance. This can also be used by those attending who wish to ship machines in for the sale.

Can I buy at the auction if I can't attend?
Probably. This will all depend on the individual sellers. If the seller is happy to await a postal payment and is willing to ship the machine, then we'll be happy to bid on your behalf (the auctioneer will bid for you and attempt to buy the machine at the lowest price dependant on other bids and possible reserve.). Alternatively you can ask a friend who is attending to bid on your behalf.

Can any item be entered in the auction?
We get a little fussy about this.To maintain the standard of the sale we will set a minimum likely sale price. Items not expected to reach this figure can be sold on the sales tables. The minimum will be announced early in the New Year.

Can I get help in setting a reserve?
Yes, we'll have a team of experienced ISMACS members ready to help you with reserve suggestions if needed

Who is the auctioneer?
ISMACS chairman Graham Forsdyke, with 25 years of auctioneering experience behind him will conduct the sale.

I've still got queries.
